So, this time round the question popped up, ‘Is true love on the verge of extinction?” And here goes my answer. Tell me what you think of it and your views on this topic.
I think it maybe the case because of the increase in rate of divorces and breakups. Gone are the days when people used to be loyal and understanding of your needs and respected your differences. Gone are the days when people looked beyond your looks and financial status. Gone are the days when people fell for your virtues instead of your receding waistline. Gone are the days when people loved you despite your flaws, because nobody’s perfect. Gone are the days when we used to be adaptive and tolerant. Gone are the days when we used to be patient and not impulsive. Gone are the days when we longed for emotional and spiritual fulfillment from our partner. Now we seek only bodily pleasures. Gone are the days when relationships lasted for a decade or two. Gone are the days when people celebrated each other’s differences and cherished their similarities. Gone are the days when we used to find happiness in little ordinary things around us. Gone are the days when couples used to make dull and simple moments turn into true romantic moments. Gone are the days when we never judged anyone based on their past or background. Rage, wrath, lechery, avarice is increasing day by day. We think of people as option no.1, option no. 2. We are not ready to make sacrifices until the other person proves his worth. We have stopped trusting people and having faith in relationships. I am not saying trust blindly but at least trust practically.
However, there are exceptions. There are some beautiful souls who can see beyond your past, background, caste, race and flaws into your kind heart, generosity, virtues and clean soul. There are people who accept you the way you are and can tolerate you for a lifetime (and that’s what I’m looking for, wink!). There are people who are willing to go the extra mile for you. There are people who find beauty in common situations that brings love alive in their relationship. There are people, rare, but who are willing to serve you and take care of you. There are people who will be faithful behind your back because they fell for your soul not your superficial beauty. I guess, these people make our world a better place to live in.
True love is rare, precious and pure. It is too rare to be found so easily. But its worth the wait. After all, we don’t value something which is attained easily and love is best when earned after a long hiatus of setbacks because it lasts for a lifetime. I believe it does happen once in a lifetime.
